The Association hosts an annual dinner usually a week or 2 after the Chinese New Year’s day. This is a chance for members to get together and celebrate the Chinese new year. Traditionally, the dinner is a Chinese banquet held in a Chinese restaurant. Entertainment during the dinner includes lion dance, on stage performances and raffle draw. The god of fortune will also make an appearance to give everyone a chocolate gold coin as a sign of good fortune for the new year. VIPs such as local and federal government representatives and Chinese Consulate representatives are also invited.
